Society and the world.

After having a nice discussion with my friend Chris, we came across a rather interesting topic I'd like to wrote a short blog on.
Society and how this world operates. To me this is an ongoing problem that has been improved over the last few decades with the computer revolution but now as I write this in 2007 has grown stagnant. Mainly referring to communication and cooperation. It's just not happening. Everyone is just consumed by capitalizum and market domination, as well as consumption.
The key to my topic here is that with so many companies and individuals competing for the same consumers there is little room for cooperative innovation and combined resource productivity. It's holding back society. Example is when a new innovation comes out that can help human kind in any marginally significant way, every stride is taken to bury and undermine it so they will not gain too many consumers while others attempt to catch up to the same technology which is just slowing down progress as a whole. If they'd simply congratulate them on the accomplishment and move on to other things or license it for them selfs to sell as well supporting the achievement rather then undermine it in many ways beyond the scope of this posting, then they would be supporting progress and not wasting our human assets for human progression.
Changes? Yes it's possible and it's already happening on many levels, but just not fast enough in my opinion. Collaborative sites like wikipedia, CPAN, and even google.com news reader (http://goggle.com/reader) are some of web sites that come to mind that are brining communities of people together for certain goal oriented communication. There are alot more out there but I can't point them out as I haven't seen them (hence the problem). They need to be made more public and better moderated even better designed to handle more hands on goal oriented progress for our future toward a connected society, a connected world. One in which race, color, heritage, religion is not observed. Only the size of your font and your choice of browser distinguishing the supporters (metaphorically speaking) .
It is my life goal to work towards solving some of these issues. As my last point I'd like to state yet another curve of the context I just spoke of, and that is regarding this blog in which I am fairly new to. That is, this Society connectivity problem is even apparent in this blog entry as I can not think of more then a handful of people that will read this and be inspired to set a goal of doing at least one thing to help humanity as a whole or help them reach out and unite the world. If I'm proven wrong please set your own goal, try to do 3 things to help human kind as a hole, one could be just linking this post to someone else. The future is ours to shape lets make it a revolution!
